This course combines engineering design and innovation to tackle complex global challenges collaboratively. You'll usually start with engineering foundations: mathematics, mechanics and materials, and design skills including CAD and workshop practice. In Year 2, a course like this normally moves into core engineering disciplines, thermodynamics and fluids, or circuits and systems, alongside simulation, programming and data analysis. You'll work in teams on a real design project reviewed to industry standards. Year 3 focuses on specialisation, such as mechanical, electrical and electronic, civil and structural, robotics and mechatronics, or energy and sustainability.
