This course is approved by the College of Radiographers and combines theoretical study with substantial clinical placement to build hands-on diagnostic imaging expertise. You'll usually start with foundations in imaging physics, anatomy and clinical skills, then progress to specialist areas such as adult radiography, cross-sectional imaging and emergency imaging. Throughout all three years, you'll undertake supervised placements in hospital radiology departments and imaging centres, a core requirement that typically accounts for around half your time, to develop practical competence alongside classroom and laboratory learning. Your final year draws together evidence-based practice, advanced imaging techniques and preparation for professional registration.
