What you'll study
You'll study product design from foundational visual principles through to specialist practice. In your first year, you'll usually build core skills in visual studies, design principles, and materials and making techniques across workshops in print, textiles, digital fabrication and more, supported by contextual studies in design history. Year two moves into sustained studio practice and personal direction, with modules in digital and emerging media, such as creative software, motion or 3D work, alongside live client briefs and real-world projects. You'll then specialise in areas such as graphic design, illustration, fine art, fashion and textiles, or UX and digital design, developing a strong professional portfolio and culminating in a final major project exhibited in a degree show.
