This course combines cutting-edge science with real-world problem solving in bioengineering. You'll start with core engineering foundations, mathematics, mechanics and materials, and design skills including CAD and workshop practice. In Year 2, you'll move into engineering analysis, computing and systems, supported by a team design project reviewed against real industry standards. Year 3 opens specialist options such as mechanical, electrical and electronic, civil and structural, robotics and mechatronics, energy and sustainability, or the Chartered (CEng) pathway, alongside professional engineering practice covering safety, ethics and sustainability. You'll complete a substantial individual project as the centrepiece of your degree. The foundation year provides additional support in mathematics and core science if you need it.
