You'll usually begin with foundations in cell biology, biochemistry, genetics and evolution, supported by practical laboratory work and data analysis skills. Year 2 progresses to molecular biology and microbiology, with guided research experience. From Year 3, you'll specialise in areas such as biomedical science, molecular biology, ecology and conservation, biotechnology, microbiology or neuroscience, whilst engaging with current research literature and conducting an extended research project.
