This course prepares you for a career in health and social care by combining theory with supervised clinical practice. You'll usually start with foundations in nursing practice, anatomy and physiology, alongside your first placement. Year 2 typically moves to acute and long-term care, medicines management and pharmacology, with broader placements in community, mental health or specialist settings. In Year 3, you'll progress to complex care, leadership and evidence-based practice, culminating in your final placement and transition to registration. Throughout all three years, placements run consistently. You can pursue specialisations such as adult nursing, mental health, children's nursing, community and primary care, or leadership pathways, building towards NMC registration.
