This course combines analytical reasoning and problem-solving to plan and execute investigations, analyse data, and undertake experimental work in Physics. You'll usually start with core Physics, Mathematics for Scientists, and Laboratory Skills to build measurement and scientific communication. Year 2 typically introduces Quantum and Thermal Physics, advanced experiments and computing, and mathematical methods for solving physical problems. From Year 3 onwards, you'll choose specialist options, such as Astrophysics, Materials Science, Quantum Science, Computational Methods, or a Research Placement, study research-level topics with active researchers, and complete a supervised investigation in a research group.
