The aim of this module is to introduce you to the basic aspects of fashion styling and image making in order to learn how to become a fashion tastemaker. Experimentation and creative risk taking are encouraged as the meaning of taste is subverted and explored in relation to both styling and casting. Tasks include casting, styling a model and doing a mini shoot.

In this module you will be introduced to the core research and critical skills you will need to develop the holistic creative thinking required of all modules on the programme. What you'll study
This course is designed to nurture your creative voice and aesthetic through fashion image making and styling practice. You'll usually begin with visual studies and design principles, colour, composition and form, alongside materials and processes workshops and contextual studies in art and design history. In Year 2, you move into sustained studio practice, developing a personal direction, and engage with digital media and live client briefs. Year 3 focuses on a specialist studio pathway in your chosen area, such as graphic design, illustration, fine art, fashion and textiles, or UX and digital work, alongside professional practice and portfolio development. You'll culminate in a self-directed final major project, publicly exhibited in a degree show.
