You'll study how cells, molecules and organisms work, building from foundational biochemistry and genetics through to advanced molecular biology and specialist topics. Year 1 covers cell biology, biochemistry, genetics and practical lab skills. In Year 2, you'll move into molecular biology, physiology or microbiology, and carry out your own guided lab project. Year 3 lets you specialise in areas such as biomedical science, molecular biology, ecology and conservation, biotechnology, microbiology or neuroscience, whilst working on an extended research project and exploring current topics in bioscience. Throughout, you'll develop scientific thinking, experimental technique and the ability to interpret research evidence.
