This course develops the practical and theoretical skills needed to design and build software systems. You'll usually start by building a strong foundation in programming fundamentals, working in languages such as Python and Java, alongside discrete mathematics and computer systems architecture. In Year 2, you'll move into algorithms, data structures, databases and software engineering practice, learning to work effectively in teams and understand how to model and query data.
