This course develops the analytical and practical skills required to prepare you for a wide range of science-related careers. You'll usually start with core physics and chemistry, mechanics, matter, energy, atomic structure and bonding, alongside mathematics for scientists and foundational laboratory work in measurement and scientific writing. Year 2 moves into the discipline's conceptual core: quantum and thermal physics, organic and physical chemistry, advanced experiments and scientific programming. In Years 3 and 4, you'll study specialist options such as astrophysics, materials science, medicinal chemistry, quantum science and computational methods, take research-level seminars taught by active researchers, and undertake a supervised research project in a chemistry research group.
