What you'll study
You'll study how historians construct arguments from evidence, beginning with foundational modules on medieval, early modern and modern world history. Year 1 introduces you to archival sources and the craft of historical interpretation. As you progress, you'll move into focused study of particular periods and themes through primary documents, learn how historical interpretations evolve, and explore how history is presented beyond academia, in museums and heritage settings. In your final year, you'll pursue specialist options such as modern history, medieval studies, global and imperial history, social and cultural history, public history and heritage, or archival research.
