This degree focuses on making and studying music across performance, composition, technology and scholarship. You'll usually start with principal-study lessons, ensemble work, music theory and aural skills, alongside studying repertoire and its history. In your second year, you'll deepen performance technique through recitals and larger projects, whilst exploring composition or music technology in the studio. You'll also develop teaching and community music practice. By your final year, you'll pursue a specialist pathway, such as performance, composition, musicology, music production or music education, whilst studying the business side of music: funding, promotion and portfolio careers.
