This course suits you if you're drawn to how chemical compounds affect living systems and want to understand, or help design, the medicines that treat disease. You'll need strong science foundations (A-level Chemistry and Biology, or equivalents) and analytical thinking; most accepted students arrived with A-levels or equivalent. You should be comfortable with lab work, data analysis and independent thinking. If you want to move fluidly between bench science and patient-facing roles, or to build a research career in pharmaceutical development, this degree offers both pathways. Expect rigorous problem-solving and genuine responsibility for your own learning, especially in your final year project.
