This integrated Master's course combines core chemistry with data science applications. You'll typically begin with programming fundamentals, computer systems and discrete mathematics for computing, alongside foundational chemistry theory. From Year 2 onwards, you'll move into algorithms, databases and software engineering, whilst deepening your chemistry knowledge. In later years, you'll pursue specialist options such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science, software engineering, systems and networks, or human–computer interaction. You'll complete an individual project, a substantial supervised build-and-evaluate software project, and undertake a 12-month work placement as part of your MChem integrated Master's experience.
