This four-year degree combines practical production skills with critical design thinking. You'll usually begin with foundations in visual studies, design principles, and materials across print, textiles, digital and other media, alongside contextual studies in art and design history. In Year 2, you'll develop sustained studio practice, explore digital and emerging media, and work on live briefs with real clients. From Year 3 onwards, a typical course like this narrows toward specialist pathways, such as graphic design, illustration, fine art, fashion and textiles, or UX and digital work, whilst building professional practice knowledge and a portfolio.
