What you'll study

This RSB-accredited degree builds scientific, laboratory and research skills for bioscience and healthcare. You'll usually begin with foundations in cell biology, biochemistry, genetics and evolution, alongside practical techniques and data skills. Year 2 moves to molecular biology and physiology or microbiology, supported by research methods and a lab project. In your final year, you'll pursue specialist options such as biomedical science, molecular biology, ecology and conservation, biotechnology, microbiology or neuroscience, whilst engaging with current research literature and undertaking an extended supervised research project.
