What you'll study
This course combines creativity, science, technology and project management in architectural design. You'll normally start with design fundamentals through drawing, making and critique, alongside architectural history, theory and the science of how buildings stand up. In year two, you'll move to more complex design briefs that consider context, users and regulation, whilst studying environmental design, structures and digital tools such as CAD and BIM. Your final year culminates in a major design project, the RIBA Part 1 centrepiece, alongside professional practice and a written dissertation. Throughout, you'll explore specialisations such as sustainable design, urban design, BIM and digital workflows, and portfolio development.
