This integrated master's course blends design thinking with engineering fundamentals and innovation. You'll usually begin with core mathematics, mechanics and materials science, alongside hands-on CAD and workshop practice. Year 2 builds technical depth through subjects such as thermodynamics and fluids or circuits and systems depending on your stream, combined with engineering analysis, computing and a team design project. In later years, you'll pursue specialist options in areas such as mechanical, electrical and electronic, civil and structural, robotics and mechatronics, energy and sustainability, or progress towards Chartered Engineer status. You'll develop professional engineering practice skills, and complete a substantial individual design or research project that forms the centrepiece of your degree.
