This course examines how geography shapes culture and identity through environmental and social systems. You'll usually begin with Earth Systems Science, Ecology Fundamentals and Environmental Data & GIS to establish core knowledge of how the planet and its ecosystems function. In Year 2, you'll progress to Climate Change Science & Policy, Pollution & Environmental Management, and undertake residential fieldwork applying methods to real landscapes. By Year 3, you'll choose specialist options such as climate science, conservation, GIS and remote sensing, environmental policy, or water and pollution studies. Your final year also includes sustainability work with organisations on live environmental problems and an independent dissertation based on field research or data analysis.
