What you'll study

This course focuses on the design and engineering of yachts and powercraft, integrating mechanical, structural, and systems thinking specific to marine vessels. You'll usually start with engineering fundamentals, mathematics, mechanics, materials and CAD, then progress into core disciplines covering thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, electrical systems and computing. Year 2 typically introduces group design work on real specifications and engineering analysis tools.
