This course builds a foundation in core engineering principles before progressing to specialised topics in mechatronics and robotics. You'll usually start with Engineering Mathematics, Mechanics & Materials, and Design & Practical Skills, developing CAD competency and understanding how materials behave under load. In Year 2, you'll study the discipline core, typically Thermodynamics & Fluids and Circuits & Systems, alongside Engineering Analysis & Computing and a team-based Group Design Project assessed to industry standards. From Year 3 onwards, you'll select specialist options such as Robotics & Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic, Civil & Structural, Energy & Sustainability, or the Chartered (CEng) pathway.
