This course explores the creative process of interior design, spanning materials and furnishings, retail and event design, through to architectural alteration and technology. You'll usually begin with foundational design studio work, learning through drawing, making and critique, alongside architectural history and construction principles. As you progress, you'll tackle more complex briefs within design studios, study environmental design and digital representation such as CAD and BIM, and develop specialist knowledge in areas such as RIBA Part 1, sustainable design, urban design, and portfolio development. In your final year, you'll typically undertake a major design project and professional practice module, alongside written research or dissertation work.
