This course focuses on understanding fundamental principles of Engineering and applying them through design projects. A typical architectural engineering degree starts with the foundations: design studio, architectural history and theory, and construction materials. As you progress into Year 2, you'll usually deepen your work through more complex design briefs, environmental design and structural principles, and digital representation tools such as CAD and BIM. In Years 3–5, a course like this normally moves towards specialist options, such as RIBA Part 1, sustainable design, urban design, and portfolio development, alongside a major design project and dissertation.
