What you'll study
This course prepares you to develop new methods of disease prevention and treatment as a medical biochemist. You'll usually begin with biomedical sciences core, anatomy, physiology and pathology taught by body system, alongside clinical and communication skills from the outset. In years one and two, you'll also study population health and ethics. As you progress, a course like this normally moves into clinical rotations across hospital and general practice settings, specialty attachments such as paediatrics, psychiatry and obstetrics, and student-selected components allowing you to explore areas of particular interest, often through research. By the later stages, you'll be ready for assistantship roles, professional preparation, and an elective placement of your choice.
